Best Printing Practices for the Best Custom Products!

  • Print This, Not That: Full-Color Printing

If your logo or design contains multiple colors, consider an alternative to spot color printing. Color Vista is a printing process that provides close registration and photo-quality reproduction on non-woven bags. The difference is especially visible with gradations- notice how the Color Vista print pops off the item, whereas the spot color appears one-dimensional and falls flat. Which do you prefer?

In the world of promotional marketing, there’s one item that never goes out of style: the trusty tote bag. Versatile, eco-friendly, and oh-so-stylish, tote bags are the perfect canvas for showcasing your brand wherever you go.

Whether you’re heading to the grocery store, hitting the gym, or attending a trade show, a custom tote bag is more than just a carryall – it’s a walking billboard for your business. With ample space for your logo, slogan, or design, you’ll make a lasting impression on everyone you encounter.

But it’s not just about promoting your brand, tote bags also make a positive statement about your commitment to sustainability. Reusable and durable, they’re a practical alternative to single-use plastic bags, helping to reduce waste and protect the planet.

  • Print This, Not That: Maximize the Imprint Area

Text reads: "Print this not that. Horizontal orientation." Pictured are two custom branded logo bottles. One shows the logo smaller horizontal orientation. The other shows the logo going vertically and larger.

Have you ever taken a photography class? A common piece of advice given to novice photographers is to experiment with angles. Repeatedly snapping photos from the same eye-level, frontal position can make for some dull shots. Getting low to the ground and shooting upwards or capturing a head shot from a side angle can greatly increase the visual interest of your work. The same lesson holds true with promotional products. Unless you’re creating a fully custom piece, your artwork/logo is often confined to the item’s imprint area. When the art itself can’t be modified either (for instance, when adhering to very specific branding guidelines), a good trick is to experiment with angles. In the example above, the water bottle affords a long, skinny imprint area. That’s not exactly conducive to printing a logo (Coca-Cola) that is wider than it is tall, huh? Rather than size down the logo to fit horizontally, rotate it to fit the space vertically. You make much better use of the imprint area, and the user will actually be able to read the imprint when drinking from the bottle.

In today’s fast-paced world, staying hydrated is more important than ever – and what better way to do it than with a custom water bottle!

Our personalized water bottles are not only practical but also stylish, making them the perfect promotional tool for your business. Whether you’re at the gym, in the office, or on the go, our high-quality bottles are designed to keep your drinks cold (or hot!) and your brand top of mind.

  • Print This, Not That: Name Tags

On any given day, think about the number of name tags you encounter. The teller at the bank… what was his name? The cashier at the grocery store… it was Susan, I think? My server at Sweetwater Tavern… I have not the faintest clue. But the Roast Chicken Salad was really good. Jeremy had no trouble remembering Betty, the Westin employee that he met in Beijing. Now, why was that? Because Betty’s name tag had a little something extra. Beneath her name, the text- “My Passion: Singing”- was inscribed, and it acted as a conversation starter between her and Jeremy. Westin’s name tags teach us that a little creativity can really amplify the impact of your branded items. If you’re going to invest in name tags for your employees, make them work for you.

  • Print This, Not That: Variable Data

The next time you order promotional products for a targeted campaign- whether internal or external- consider personalizing each item with the recipient’s name. It’s a minor addition, but it increases the item’s perceived value and adds a personal touch. Just send us an Excel spreadsheet with a list of names, and we’ll do the rest. Don’t just personalize names, on certain items we can also print personalized images or logos.
